Maddy Rentenaar grew up and attended art school at Maastricht. In the eighties, she moved to Amsterdam where she lives and works again. In between she lived and made art at Purmerend for years.
Her work is by origin two-dimensional. Oil on canvas or gouache on paper. Next to paint she use other materials and structures wich make some parts three-dimensional.
She had exhibitions in several galleries and artists' associations (Boterhal Hoorn, Kunsthuis Waterland Purmerend, Pulchri Den Haag) and purchased art by commissioned portraits.
In addition, she is also a musician (guitar player).
In the beginning, she played classical guitar, but nowadays she plays together with the Dutch repertoire of Reinder van der Woude.
